The Dwarf Planets
Here are the dwarf planets. The dwarf planets are so small that at one point they were not classified as planets.
Ceres

Ceres is the first dwarf planet in the solar system. Ceres is also the smallest planet in the solar system. It is the only dwarf planet without a moon. Ceres is in the Kuiper belt, in between Mars and Jupiter. A day on Ceres is 9 hours and a year is 4.6 Earth years. It is a pretty barren place, which is why I don't have much to say about it. Adios! Pluto

Pluto is the second dwarf planet in the solar system. Pluto is the largest dwarf planet in the solar system. It was, at one point, included in the planets category, but then astronomers found more planets like it. However, the planets they found did not meet the standards of being a planet, so Pluto got demoted to dwarf planet along with the others. Pluto has 5 moons. A day on Pluto is 6 days, 9 hours, and 36 minutes. A year on Pluto is 247.7 Earth years. Until 2017, astronomers thought Pluto was a planet without interesting features, but pictures taken by a probe said otherwise. I guess it probably didn't actually say "otherwise", but you get what I mean. According to the pictures from the probe, Pluto has snow, which is pretty cool. Haumea
![Picture](/uploads/1/0/0/6/100691736/published/haumea.jpeg?1499167874)
Haumea is the third dwarf planet in our solar system. Haumea is the second smallest dwarf planet in the solar system. If you are crying about Pluto's sad story and wondering who to blame, this guy and the other dwarf planets are to blame. However, just because they are criminals doesn't mean they aren't interesting. Haumea is one of the most interesting ones in that it is an oval. Haumea makes one spin in 3.9 hours, which means its day is 3.9 hours as well. I hope you didn't know that already. Haumea's year is 285 Earth years. These next few planets are very cold, even colder than Mars, so I would suggest more than just two coats, maybe more like two hundred! Makemake
![Picture](/uploads/1/0/0/6/100691736/published/makemake.jpeg?1499167886)
Makemake is the fourth dwarf planet and the third largest dwarf planet in the solar system. It is Mars' little brother, in that he is also red and cold. Its day is 22.5 hours long and its year is 305 earth years, so you would die before you turned one. Makemake has one moon, S/2015/1. If you ever meet him, ask him if he goes by his full name or by Essy. To learn more about Makemake, go to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Makemake
Eris

Eris is the fifth dwarf planet and the second largest dwarf planet in the solar system. Eris is the farthest planet from the sun, which means it is VERY cold. It even gets down to -390 degrees Fahrenheit! That's like the temperature of ice cream times 78! Eris's day is 25.9 hours long and its year is 560 earth years. Eris has one moon called Dice-snow-me-a. Oops! It's Dysnomia. To learn more about Eris, go to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eris_(dwarf_planet)
